No problem. We perform different styles of music through year and we recognise that not every style suits everyone. We have a membership fee for a term.
We also appreciate that life gets in the way and sometimes people miss a term and then come back.
We currently have around 55 members, but we would like to grow and welcome potential singers coming along to give us a try.
Of course. We appreciate that peoples voices change, especially as they get older. We are a non-audition choir but our Musical Director welcomes the opportunity to help members find the best place part for them.
We encourage members to attend 2/3 of the rehearsals each term. This is one way of ensuring concert readiness, but we have a range of other ways of helping singers prepare. The key factor is making a commitment to being ready. We appreciate that life can sometimes get in the way. Just talk to us.
The short answer is no, it's not a requirement. We have quite a few members who don't, or have limited ability. However, it will always be easier for those who do as we sing from sheet music.
We provide audio files on Dropbox to help members rehearse the parts, but they don't have the words included. It's helpful to at least be able to follow the music on the sheet while listening to the recording.
No, performance is not a condition of membership. Some members just like to come and sing in the rehearsals but prefer not to perform for various reasons. Sometimes because physically it is too challenging, or they are on holiday the day of the concert or perhaps they just want to sing with us for pleasure.
